No.Sleep – Mix.05: A mixtape that attracts the sun, makes you want to dance and puts in a good mood, courtesy of Odesza
I do not know about you but I’m sick and tired of this rubbish weather. It’s been a while since the sun has not showed up and it’s irritating. I need a hot weather, sun, I’m calling for a beach, a parasol and few mojitos. Until holidays come up, we offer you a small ray of sunshine with the Lazy Sunday Mix!
Today, enjoy, the sun is provided by Odesza and on a silver tray. For the informative aspect of the article, Odesza is two Djs from Seattle. Harrison Mills (CatacombKid) and Clayton Knight (BeachesBeaches) meet at Western Washington University. From their electro union Odesza was born, a duo that began in 2012 with a sound that you could qualify as glitchy electro, downtempo, summery, etc., in short heavy stuff.
In this issue of the LSM, we will focus on their mixtape Mix.05, part of the No.Sleep series. In their playlist, we will find names like Disclosure, Fatboy Slim, Amtrac, Manics and many others. Their style; mixing melody, drum, vocals, is somewhat reminiscent of artists of the same generation such as Fakear, Flume, N’to, etc. A kind of sound that we love here at Cb… Vinyl Record Art, which leaves no one indifferent, that makes you want to push the furniture and gives you a healthy dose of sunshine. Just enough to get back on track with the approach of summer and its many festivals!
