The French Touch is far from having said its last words! Its torch is carried high and proud with the talented Fakear!
We all love to have our Sunday to occasionally do nothing. Today, you’ll do absolutely nothing but in music, please! Now it’s time for our Lazy Sunday Mix!
His weapons of choice: The MPCs. His style: “The Electro music as a journey without a destination”. He’s talented, he is young (23), he’s French, I’m talking about Fakear!
From Caen in France, the young prodigy of the Electro Trip Hop continues to rise and impose himself as a key figure in the Electro scene “à la Française”.
His both parents are music teachers. He has been immersed in the music since he was a child. He grew up with Old School rock bands such as Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, Zappa or Supertramp, also with World Music such as Deep Forest and classical music. From his musical culture, he put into Fakear, an open-mindedness and an invitation to travel!
2009, it’s the year of his A-Level, it’s also the year where he began to experiment sounds in his bedroom. His influences are Wax Tailor or Bonobo. Soon Fakear, first name Théo, begins to produce real incisive tracks, very well-worked. His style is described as “Abstract Hip-Hop”, often compared to the golden age of Ninja Tune.
After a few years perfecting the art of electro and mastering MPCs, Fakear released his first LP “Bird” in 2011. 3 others will follow and it is with his fifth album “Morning In Japan” (2013), that he will carved in gold letters, his name on the French Touch‘s famous artists Wall Of Fame. Since then, his name is written on everyone’s lips. Fakear tours the biggest festivals, sometimes supports Wax Tailor (nothing less!) and continues to tour through France. With Fakear, the Electro Trip Hop regains its former nobility and frankly it feels good!
April 2014, Fakear released a mix for Tsugi Mag. It is with immeasurable pleasure that we present you Fakear with this mix, which again invites us to travel!
