It’s Sunday and for this new edition of our Lazy Sunday Mix, I will take you away on a great adventure, a fantastic trip organized by Jim Sharp with his mixtape “Straighten it Out“!
For those who don’t know him yet, Jim Sharp is a Dj / Producer from Toronto and based in London. He reigns on the English musical scene as a Dj and this for several years now. His credo: many mixes and remixes with a Hip Hop, Soul, and Funk touch. Notably known for having been the resident DJ at Ali B‘s legendary Soul & Funk sessions at The Paradise (West London), Sharp also surrounded himself with great DJs such as DJ Format, Mr. Thing, Spin Doctor and others for high level collaborations. More recently, Jim Sharp became an active member of Sip The Juice, a collective of Hip Hop DJs based in Bristol, UK. Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell So for this new Lazy Sunday, I am very pleased to present you the mixtape “Straighten it Out” by Jim Sharp. An incredible soul, funk, hip hop mix performed with a high-precision! He mixes with talent and intelligence, with looped drum breaks and samples, the big names in the music industry such as Amy Winehouse, Dee Edwards, Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell, Curtis Mayfield, Wendy Rene, Naughty BY Nature, Pete Rock, Biggie, Blackstreet, The Biz, Wu-Tang and that’s the least of it!
