the lazy sunday, a mix and a day at home

Back to the career of the Nu-Soul queen with an original mix made by QSTN and dedicated to the discography of Erykah Badu

There are Sundays, often when the weather is not so nice or after a tough week, where we don’t want to leave home. This is one of those Sundays for me today. If you are just like me, I dug out for you the perfect mix that will stick to your state of mind. A quiet and laid back mix for us to enjoy the peace and the comfort of our home. I suggest you a little bit of Soul and R&B for this new issue of the Lazy Sunday Mix.

Talented artist and exceptional singer, Erykah Badu already has a long career filled with well deserved success. The singer who mixes Soul, Hip Hop, Jazz and R&B, and with a well established talent, didn’t steal her nickname as the “Queen of Nu-Soul”.

To celebrate and pay tribute to this beautiful prolific career, a Californian Dj became interested in the work and the musical career of Erykah. Part of the artistic collective Mellow Orange based in San Francisco, QSTN released a mixtape that he simply called “Baduist”. This excellent mix includes some classic of the singer, the original samples and mostly unreleased remixes. It’s a nice idea of a journey through the Queen’s discography offered by QSTN.

Close your eyes and let yourself be gently rocked by the melodious voice of Erykah Badu!
