1995 – A year that allows the French Rap to free itself and to make it known by many!
I like Sundays where one spends the day to remember the good memories, especially when it comes to musical playlists. Well, guess what? The Lazy Sunday Mix offers you a journey back in time to stop in 1995!
The French Rap has long been considered to be the best in Europe. It is said of it that its rhythms / beats are the most colourful, accomplished and powerful. Nothing to compare to the US Rap but seriously, it has nothing to envy. Among the greatest of the French Hip Hop scene, we hear names like Iam, NTM, Assassin, Mc Solaar, etc.
1995 was an extraordinary year for the Rap in France since that same year, many and often the best productions have emerged. Tracks that we still listen to continuously today. Note that 1995 will also see the release of the film “La Haine” by Mathieu Kassovitz (20th anniversary in 2015). A coincidence ? Perhaps. Anyway, this film and these productions are almost inseparable.
To honor this film and the bands that made the French rap, the “ABCDR du son”, webzine dedicated to urban culture and rap released for the occasion a mix full of tracks from 1995. A mixtape that almost has an encyclopedic value.
