Art and Sculptures on vinyl records – Who is Cb Vinyl Record Art?

This is how my story begins with the vinyl record… and so the project Cb… Vinyl Record Art

Cb Vinyl Record Art is a project that came to life in 2012. It was born from a simple question: What should I do with my scratched records? The answer was easy: giving them a second life! The project is then launched by Cb… (me) on his own who started to handmade sculpt and carve out his vinyl records.

I'm enthusiasts, influenced by the cultures and subcultures of the 80s to date. Unconditional lovers of vinyl record, art, design and decoration, I'm tired of seeing old vinyl records end up in the bin.

An original artistic celebration of the underlying and popular cultures on vinyl records

Born in France in the 80s, I explore the cultures both popular and subversive in original and refined compositions. My art is characterized by an exploitation of the symbolism and the iconography of the cinematographic, urban and musical arts. The interesting choice of the vinyl record as a work support gives to my pieces of art a true contemplative authenticity mixing nostalgia, timelessness and modernity. Each piece is created from a scratched vinyl record, therefore recycled, highlighting the message of the exploitation and cyclical reuse of the culture. In this artistic and artisan form the object becomes subject and inversely, ascribing a relevance in equal parts.

"The artistic complexity of Cb Vinyl Record Art allowed him to integrate graphic design and techniques of exploitation of the vinyl support in order to produce inspired, unique and authentic works".

My works have been exhibited in numerous galleries in France and Europe. They are now in private collections around the world: Paris, Bristol, London, Brussels, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Montreal, Hong Kong, Sidney, etc.
