Our favourite bands replayed as lullabies. A musical enjoyment for the whole family!
For this edition of the Lazy Sunday Mix, we’ll play it cool. No Hip Hop, no Electro nor Soul or Funk. Today is a Sunday dedicated to kids!
The last 12 months, many of my closest friends have become parents for the first or second time. Others are in the process of becoming parents in the next few days. I wanted to dedicate this article to my friends and their newborns. I welcome them among us!
We often complain that the youth has no musical culture, taste or interest in it. They abandoned the music that we cherish in favour of bland and uninteresting artists. Well I have good news for you!
A record label called “Rockabye Baby!” and based in Los Angeles is having fun, since 2006, in recreating the songs of our favourite bands into lullabies for children. Their early albums were rock, the label has now more than fifty different artists and styles, from punk to rap, through rock and metal. You can find in their catalog, in a lullaby style, a lot of music bands such as AC / DC, Aerosmith, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Björk, Bob Marley, The Clash, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd, Eminen, Queen, The White Stripes and many more, the list is long.
“First and foremost, this project is a family entertainment” says label Vice President Lisa Roth. She also says on their website that the project is initiated by music fans. The purpose is to create lullabies that will satisfy young and old. I listened to a few songs while preparing this article, and I must say that it is rather very relaxing for adults too.
To educate the musical ear of your children and tenderly introduce them to the bands that we love, I have prepared for you a small lullabies playlist by Rockabye Baby!
